Bossard started her professional career in the field of commercial fish worker in the year 1999. Bossard began working with the ship F/V Sunset which was a 65' halibut schooner and was later converted into a salmon tender for Murat Aritan, who was employed in commercial fishing since 1993. Bossard is now engaged to Aritan and they have joined together to assert their rights to the industry. Both of them are favour of conserving resources as well as maximising profits. In 2007, she became a mother of two young children Bella aged 3 and Andre 1 Bossard then returning to living in Philadelphia established a direct market wholesale seafood distributor known as Otolith. Otolith's name is an affectionate memory of Bossard's deep understanding of the biology of fish and her husband's extensive connections in the business of fishing. The two are frequently separated for up to 5 months in a row while they work towards sustainable and financial goals which reflect their dedication and independence wherever they live. Bossard and their son Andre and daughter Isabella are scheduled to return to Southeast Alaska every summer as deckhands in the wild salmon harvest. Hooks and lines are used to collect their fish, and then join Aritan to market their products to local processors for two months.
